At 14 she convinced her mom to let her live in Lima to so she could work and study. The family who brought her to the capital did not let her go to school. She worked with several families as a domestic worker dreaming of getting ahead. Determined and persistent, she started saving half of her salary every month and after some years she started her own business. Today she is the owner of a hardware store, a house, a car and cargo truck that she rents for construction works.

She was born in Humalies and since she was a little girl she dreamed of having her own restaurant. She was a domestic worker from a very young age. Determined as she is, she managed to work and study at the same time and that is how she graduated in Accounting and Gastronomy. Today, she works as a cooking assistant in a well-respected hotel company.

Everyday she had to walk more than an hour to go to school. She worked at the fields, studied and ended up falling asleep on her notebooks. Betty decided since she was very young that she wanted to study. First, she worked and saved until she could buy a little convenience store for her mom, and make sure that her younger brothers did not lack anything. She then got a live-in domestic worker job in Lima where she convinced her employer to let her work during the day and study during the night. Today she is a lawyer who fights for the rights of abandoned children and single mothers in Piura.

She worked many years as a paramedic and sports instructor in Venezuela. She came to Lima looking for meter opportunities for her family. Today she Works in Loop cleaning house and offices hourly. With the money she makes she can help her family both in Peru and in Venezuela.
